The Black and Tan Coonhounds are large and athletic dogs who like working during the night.

They are easygoing dogs who love the company of people. This is an all-American breed with a sensitive nose and long ears.

This breed is strong with 27 inches standing at the shoulder and having up to 110 pounds, with males being slightly bigger than females.

They tend to live between 10 to 12 years, and during that period, they will spend being active and sharing some funny moments with their humans.

This breed is a cross between the Bloodhound and the Black and Tan Virginia Foxhound.

They do shed and have a famous ‘houndy’ odor, so if you are not ok with this you might rethink this breed as your next pet. However, if the odor isn’t an issue for you, you will love to hear that this breed is easy to groom.

They may be called Coonhounds, but Black and Tans can also hunt other game, including deer, mountain lions and bears. This won’t stop them from chasing a squire4el or any other smaller animal.
